I have adopted 4 children that struggle with mental illness and its so hard. I live what you wrote. My oldest and youngest both struggle with bipolar (not called that of course) yesterday was so aweful Not sure How I lived thru the tantrums and screaming. He's on so many meds and only 7 years old and I have no clue how ive cared for him for 7 years . I got him as a 4 month old and he struggle so hard. He just got kicked out of school and they wouldn't even give us an IEP and said they are not a mental health hospital. My oldest I got at 4 years and is now 11 and I can't care for him because he hurts people. He has been living in a treatment center for 3 years now. I wanted to help my kids but don't feel like I have been able to. I love them all so much it hurts.

What a beautiful article, it explains what we go through daily. I love in South Africa and I want to make people aware of the troubles family's like ours face. Educate people, there is such a big stigma attached to mental health in this country. There's not enough support for children and families like ours.
